More on RWA:
"Romance Writers of America® (RWA) was chartered in 1981 to serve as a nonprofit trade association for romance writers.
The mission of Romance Writers of America is to advance the professional interests of career-focused romance writers through networking and advocacy. RWA works to support the efforts of its members to earn a living, to make a full-time career out of writing romance—or a part-time one that generously supplements his/her main income.
More than 10,000 romance writers and related industry professionals are members of Romance Writers of America. Although the association is called Romance Writers of America, membership is not limited to individuals living in the United States. Approximately 900 RWA members live outside the U.S., and RWA fosters connections between its members through the RWA Web site, www.rwanational.org, and its 145 local, online, and special-interest chapters. RWA's chapters provide opportunities for members to come together to discuss the industry and build connections with fellow romance writers.
Romance Writers of America hosts an annual conference that provides the perfect opportunity for authors to increase their knowledge of the business and network with industry professionals and fellow writers. The conference offers more than 100 workshops with topics ranging from beginning writing skills to the business side of writing. Romance fiction editors and literary agents search for new talent in scheduled one-on-one interviews, give workshops, and network with attendees.
RWA also sponsors the romance publishing industry's prestigious awards for published and unpublished romance writers — the RITA Awards and the Golden Heart Awards. These awards recognize excellence in romance fiction.
As one of the largest writers associations, Romance Writers of America leverages its influence and credibility to advocate for improving business conditions in the romance publishing industry. Also, RWA promotes the romance genre through outreach programs for librarians and booksellers. The outreach doesn't stop with librarians and booksellers, however. Romance Writers of America also sponsors an academic grant annually to develop and support academic research devoted to genre romance novels, writers, and readers, as well as romance reader surveys and statistics reports." sourced from RWA official website

Episode #002- The Afterglow Post

What a great show! Y'all are so awesome for tuning in.

First off, we'd like to thank the super fab Jenn LeBlanc for coming on the show and displaying her SEXY muse in the background for all of us to drool over.

If you'd like to know more about Jenn, you can visit her website here.
And if you want to check out that gorgeous book of hers, you can find buy links on her site or here:

More From The Show:
We thanked the AMAZING Tiffany Reisz for being our first guest and for doing a reading from her next book THE SIREN.

We also reminded everyone that there is less than a week left to enter the RomCon11 ticket giveaway hosted by Jenn LeBlanc, Ashley March and the ladies of Romance Lately. If you haven't entered yet, there's still time to do so. We are also giving away 2 goodie/swag bags filled with FUN items from all of us. You can find the entry form here, to do the quick and dirty entry OR if you want extra entries click here.

We moved on to the latest releases. Which there have been quite a few of. Next week is THE week for release. Actually, it's just going to be the 28th that has ALL the much anticipated releases. Laurie London's newest book was released on the day of the show. Happy Release Day Laurie!!!

Jamie talked about Vicky Dreiling's newest book, HOW TO SEDUCE A SCROUNDREL. And it is a riot! A must read. Kati wrote a review for it and you can find it here.

Now on to our favorite topic: romance visuals aka gorgeous, romantic and abtastic book covers.
The trinity mentioned abtastic covers such as Elizabeth Boyle's LORD LANGLEY'S BACK IN TOWN and DEVIL WITHOUT A CAUSE by Terri Garey.

And then Jenn came on to answer the Trinity's questions and tell them about the carrot-contemporary that will never be! She also answered some audience questions and read from both her current release, The Rake and the Recluse,  and her upcoming book, The Rake.

Rita also had a really good question for Jenn, but forgot it as soon as they went live. Afterwards, she finally remembered and Jenn happily answered. Here's what should have made it on the show:

I remember my question!!!!! I was going to ask if other authors could hire you to illustrate their novels & how to go about that

Yes, and I suppose they could simply email me and we could start there. :)

Long story, short- we had WAY too much fun. Aww, who am I kidding? You can never have enough fun!  A show for next week is still tentative- but make sure you mark July 5th in your calendar because we have some extremely cool guests planned!

More on our guest and her book
About our Guest:
"I have several constants in life that define me:Colorado, Canon, CJ, kids and curls.

Born and raised in a household of other people’s children in this beautiful state —very nearly with a camera in hand— I never left. I started my own family, got used to the curls, went to college, built a CJ, and started a business, all with a camera in hand.

I always had another passion; storytelling born from daydreams and nightmares. My fingers were never as quick as my mind, and no amount of practice got them there, so it was difficult and frustrating to have this inside me. When my second daughter was born her inherent traits kept me pinned— my only escape the keyboard. Spending my days in parenting chat rooms I got highly adept with one-handed typing and I can still type just about as fast with one hand as I can with two. It’s a great talent to have when engrossed in a scene and in need of a hit of caffeine. I recently finished my first novel but I quickly realized: I was born a photographer.

From the realization that someone ELSE would be shooting the cover of MY book my control-freak took over. What started as an easy cover shoot ballooned into this completely new kind of media, designed specifically for digital book readers.
I live and thrive off chaos and the constant flow of the creative process. I wear shorts and flip-flops year-round —much to the chagrin of my friends and family— and I am currently working on the illustrations for my second novel."

About the Book:

Francine Larrabee woke up on the wrong side of the century. She was fairly certain she went to sleep in her own comfy bed, but she doesn’t quite seem to be there now. Only adding to her problems is that she has no voice, is constantly being glowered at by a large, stunning man who is obsessed with propriety, and she is apparently betrothed to another horrid little man, determined to ruin her, and any other girls that get in his way.

How does she find herself in the past, when she couldn’t even find herself in her present? How does a self sufficient businesswoman survive in a time when women were still considered property for the whole of their lives and what is she going to do with this man who draws her to him so fiercely.

Episode #001- The Afterglow Post

So,
Fun show, riight?
Again, because it deserves repeating, that was our FIRST show. We're still working everything out, getting un-camera shy..it's a process ;)

Firstly, we'd like to thanks our AMAZING first guest, Tiffany! Boozed up on boxed wine and MEGA sexy in her Batman attire! We love you!

If you'd like to learn more about Tiff, visit her website.
And if you wanted to check out that book of her's, you can buy it on Amazon:

More from the show:
We mentioned, or at least tried to mention, a few of the upcoming releases from this month. Rita has a list of some great historicals up on her blog that you might want to add to your shelf. You can find them here.

We also mentioned GO THE FUCK TO SLEEP audible book, which you can download for free at audible.com OR listen to it here:

We also talked about PotterMore for all you Potter fanatics. Something awesome is a brewing and you can check it out here. Jamie gushed about her love of all things X-Men: First Class aka The Fassbender/McAvoy bromance movie which she and Rita saw together. Boo on that since Kati lives on the West Coast. Since we gave away a Kindle book of the winner's choice, Kati touched on Kindle lending and gifting: how incredibly awesome it is but a bummer on some of the lending restrictions.

Jamie shared her first time with BDSM. As in first time she read about it! She asked Rita and Kati if they were Dominants or Submissives. Rita said she'd be a sassy submissive but switched to Dom on the weekends. Kati is a total Dom. Her hubby even calls her "Sir".

We shared our thoughts on Tiffany's book: SEVEN DAY LOAN. Check out Kati's review. Tiffany answered questions both from the Romance Lately girls and the viewers. A bit of heckling going on from Tiff's Twitter stalkers. All in the name of fun. =)

Tiffany read from her newest book THE SIREN. It's coming out in October. Tentatively.

We also gave away a book of their choice to one lucky tweeter who used the #RomanceLately hashtag: Congrats AislynnT!!!!

What's Coming Up for the Next Show:
The ultra fab Jenn LeBlanc, author to THE RAKE AND THE RECLUSE is going to be our next guest! Fingers crossed she brings the Duke of Roxleigh with her. So tune in on Tuesday, June 21 at 10pm EST. Hope to see you there.

Episode #001 | Guest: Tiffany Reisz

It's Time!
Below is (or rather will be at 8pm EST) the live stream of the first episode of Romance Lately!
Click HERE for a guide on how to log in and participate.
ENJOY!

On Today's Show:
It's the first show, so we can't just start yammering! We'll fill you in on what Romance Lately is all about, our plans for the future, give you a little bio on ourselves, and then move into the GOOD stuff! Lots of interesting stories in the reading world to tackle, plus tons of release scheduled to hit the shelves this month that we MUST discuss! We'll also get a bit random and talk about some really good movies we've seen (points to X-Men: First Class) AND tell you what we're reading now! During this time specifically, call in or ask a text question with your opinions and thoughts!
After all that mayhem, we'll focus on The Topic For The Day: BDSM and Erotic Romance, followed by a quick discussion on the erotic fiction novella 'Seven Day Loan'(info below). We'll be interviewing the author of that book (Tiffany Reisz) on the show and fielding questions from the audience (that's YOU!). Toward the end of the show, Tiffany will do an exclusive reading from her upcoming full-length novel, The Siren!

More on our Guest and her Book:
About our Guest:
"Tiffany Reisz is a smart, artful, and masterful new voice
in erotic fiction! An erotica star on the rise!"
- Award-winning author Lacey Alexander
Tiffany Reisz lives in Lexington, Kentucky with two roommates, two dogs, two cats (one a homicidal maniac and the other clinically depressed). She graduated with a B.A. in English from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky and is making both her parents and her professors proud by writing erotic women's fiction under her real name. She has five piercings, one tattoo, and has been arrested twice. When not under arrest, Tiffany enjoys Latin Dance, Latin Men, and Latin Verbs. She dropped out of a conservative southern seminary in order to pursue her dream of becoming a smut peddler. Johnny Depp’s aunt was her fourth grade teacher. There is little to nothing interesting about her.

If she couldn’t write, she would die.

About the Book:

"A trained submissive, Eleanor will do whatever her master commands...even spend a week with a stranger. Daniel has been a recluse since his wife's death, and Eleanor's lover thinks spending time with her will be therapeutic—especially since Daniel is also a Dom. Despite her defiant streak, Eleanor can't resist giving in to Daniel's erotic demands. But while she'll let him have her body, she's determined to keep a guard around her heart. Even if Daniel wants to make Eleanor his permanently..."
Check out one of the hosts' (Kati's) review: "This isn't just some story that starts off with a potentially great premise and fizzles out to nothing but sex, sex, sex (although there was quite a bit of it). It gripped me from the first page until the last." Kati, Romancing Rakes
